Blizzard Classic Games Division Dismantled - Vicarious Visions Working on Diablo 2 Remake

More news following today's report that Activision subsidiary studio Vicarious Visions was being merged under Blizzard Entertainment, as Jason Schreier released an exposé detailing the dismantling of Blizzard's Classic Games division. While there's still no official announcement, the Diablo 2 remaster we reported on last year is all but confirmed, and his article explains how the failures of Warcraft III: Reforged led to Vicarious Visions taking a role in Diablo 2: Resurrected.


Activision Studio Vicarious Visions Merged into Blizzard Entertainment has reported that Activision subsidiary studio Vicarious Visions is being merged into Blizzard Entertainment, in order to provide long-term support to existing Blizzard games and initiatives.

Formed in 1990, Vicarious Visions was a leading developer of several minor Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS titles, best known for porting the acclaimed Tony Hawk Pro Skater series, Star Wars Jedi Knight, and Doom 3 to other platforms.
